It has also made its way to fashion weeks, with designers such as Miu Miu, Balenciaga, Simone Rocha, Bally, Khaite, and Laura opting for faux fur pieces. This trend is gaining traction as more and more designers are realising the importance of sustainability. Major fashion brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Bottega Veneta, and The London Fashion Council have announced that they are discontinuing the use of real fur.
